Get to know your neighbor at this gathering after Mass. The potluck always provides good food & great company. All are welcome, even if you forgot to bring something. We can’t wait to meet you! Be sure to check the bulletin for upcoming dates.
We all know the sting of lonliness. The Heardmont Angels strive to lessen that sting. Every Christmas the members adopt a resident of the Heardmont Nursing Home. The Angels provide prayers, clothing and miscellaneous items for residents that have no family to assist them in their needs. Every year they have a picnic. They celebrate birthdays and give gifts for birthdays and Christmas. Goodie bags are provided for Valentine's day, Easter, Mother's and Fathers day. Some of the residents are Catholic. Angels that are also Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion bring Communion to them.
If you are interested in becoming a Heardmont Angel, please contact Diane or Carolyn.
We, the parishioners and friends of Sacred Heart of Jesus and St. Mary’s Mission, are strengthening our commitment to the Culture of Life by expanding our Respect Life Ministry. We expect the ministry to evolve over time to not only support abortion prevention and crisis pregnancies, but also to provide education and information on the Church’s positions on euthanasia, genetic manipulation, cloning, death penalty, and stem cell research. We are blessed to be in the Archdiocese of Atlanta with a strong focus on Life issues and we are beginning this effort at Sacred Heart and St. Mary’s by seeking volunteers to join in this effort. The only requirement is that you are passionate about preserving life from conception to natural death! If you are interested, please contact Linda Wallace at St. Mary's or Kate Lisska at Sacred Heart. Thank you for considering a role in this important ministry.
